bigquery-lock-table-init-poll-interval-millis

--bigquery-lock-table-init-poll-interval-millis is a global parameter for the Liquibase BigQuery Secure extension. It specifies how many milliseconds Liquibase waits between attempts to query a newly created lock tracking table (DATABASECHANGELOGLOCK) while waiting for it to become queryable. The default value is 2000 (2 seconds).

Note: The total time Liquibase waits is capped by --bigquery-lock-table-init-timeout-millis.

Uses

BigQuery applies DDL changes with eventual consistency, so a lock tracking table that Liquibase just created can briefly report as missing when Liquibase queries DATABASECHANGELOGLOCK during initialization. While it waits for the table to become visible, Liquibase retries that query on a fixed interval.

The --bigquery-lock-table-init-poll-interval-millis parameter sets how long Liquibase pauses between those retries. A shorter interval detects the table sooner but sends more queries; a longer interval sends fewer queries but may add a small delay before Liquibase notices the table is ready. Most projects can leave this at the default.

  • Use --bigquery-lock-table-init-timeout-millis to control the total time Liquibase waits before giving up.
